An end of a good day

 June 4, 2021

We spent the morning in the office doing stuff.  At least I was there earlier than Elaine who was at the Library teaching the kiddies English.  She does like that.  And so do the kids.

Elder Davis stopped by to meet me at the office.  He is the Area 70 over the Cape Coast Coordinating Council.  We had been in Takoradi last weekend, at the Elder's request, to train a stake presidency and the bishoprics to give them a better understanding of the workings of, and the reasons for, the stake audit committee.  Many bishops don't appreciate it.  The bishops in that stake were good examples of not appreciating it.  One particular bishop he was hoping would be at the training, wasn't.  It was good to have those that did attend ask questions and learn some important things.  I appreciate that stake presidency very much.  The president and his two councilors are sincere latter-day saints, humbly trying to do their work.  I love them.  Anyway, Elder Davis was in Accra for some meetings and wanted to come by and apologize for that bishop not attending.  No need to do that, and it was kind to do that. We also visited a little about the general attitude of the bishops I felt at the meeting.  He is planning to meet with them later this month. Thanks Elder Davis.

On our way out of the office we passed the temple, as usual.  This scene caught our eye as we walked by.  I had to post it.

I took the third picture going to the office this morning just because it felt good and was a great shot of the temple against a rare, cloudy sky.  The first two pictures are taken from the opposite side as we were starting to walk in front of the temple.  The temple entrance is on the far side.  I had to take these two shots.  Isn't that something?!  Something sweet and wonderful?!

This evening we went to dinner to meet a new couple that arrived today from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho;  the Woodbury's, Pat and Larry.  They are replacing the standing couple, Karen Shepherd and her husband, Elder Shepherd (I forgot his first name, temporarily).  They are returning to their home near Payson, and up against the mountains.

We ate at the Capitol Café and Restaurant.  They duplicate U.S. food as good as anyone.  Not spot on, but good.

It has been a good day.  We will start tomorrow showing the Woodbury's around Accra, shopping for food.
